SALISBURY, MD -- I Love Salisbury is back!
Now moved to the spring semester, Salisbury University community members will be joining together to aid the City of Salisbury on Saturday, April 17, for the in-person, campus-wide event hosted by the university’s Student Government
Sign-in will begin at 9 a.m. on the campus’ Red Square.
All students and campus organizations are encouraged to participate in the cleanup happening across the city, with sites located from the Camden Community Garden to the Salisbury Zoo, as well as local parks and playgrounds. As many as 200 total volunteers will be permitted to sign up.
University members and organizations may register themselves or members of their organizations using https://salisbury.universitytickets.com/w/event.aspx?id=1562. Registration will remain open until the day of the event.
Any SU organization with five or more signed-up volunteers present at the event will have $50 placed into their appropriations account.
The cross-campus teambuilding activities will include clearing bike trails, leaf removal, mulching, fence construction, and painting, with free breakfast provided by the SGA during sign-in. All necessary materials will also be provided at designated stations the day of the event.
Individuals and organizations will be assigned certain locations and given tasks to complete following sign-in, with SGA members provided as designated points-of-contact for each assignment and instructed to circulate throughout the various locations for general assistance.
“We hope [all students and organizations] will consider joining us as we continue to work to create a more community service-based student experience, where giving back is a more fundamental aspect of both our academic and social experience here at SU,” said Nick Plummer, SGA’s director of campus enhancement.
